Typebar Magazine founder & editor Matt Wolfbridge here. The two years I spent at Stonecoast (W24, Pop Fic) were the finest of my creative life. In addition to meeting brilliant writers and professors I still communicate with regularly, Stonecoast helped me develop the literary knowledge and ideas that made Typebar Magazine possible.
As a way to say thanks, I'm offering all Stonecoast alumni, staff, faculty, and current students a permanent discount on an annual subscription.
I met many talented people among the Stonecoast staff, faculty, and student body. I am proud to say their professional accomplishments have since made it to the pages of Typebar: In 2025 we interviewed Ron Currie Jr. after the publishing of his since-Netflix-acquired novel The Savage, Noble Death of Babs Dionne and in 2026 we analyzed Tobias Buckell's innovations in climate fiction with his novel The Tangled Lands.
Please enjoy your subscription and I hope the essays and short stories we publish can assist you on your creative path whether you're just starting out at Stonecoast, graduated long ago, or are currently teaching the next generation of adept writers.
Thanks for everything, Stonecoast.
P.S. If you're still a student, enjoy it while it lasts. The worst part about an MFA is you have to leave just when you're really starting to understand how writing works.
